BEACHES, A CARIBBEAN SEA AND KITES

Capital of Cous-Cous, famous for its white beach lapped by a Caribbean sea

San Vito Lo Capo is a small harbor village at the foot of Monte Monaco and is about 40 minutes by car from Castellammare del Golfo and the Hotel Sopra le Mura. It is one of the most popular destinations for tourists because of the famous white beach washed by a crystalline sea with Caribbean reflections.

The town is a real epicentre of life and fun, especially during the summer when the streets and alleys are populated with people. The Mother Church, located in the main square of the town and the 'Tonnara'- tunnery del Secco are to be visited. An Event to mark in your diary for a weekend suitable for children is the kite festival that takes place the last weekend in May. A festival with an eco-sustainable basis capable of enchanting children and adults for hours with their eyes turned towards to the sky.

Kite flyers from all over the world perform acrobatic actions in a competition on the wonderful beach of San Vito Lo Capo. A succession of events end with the night shows, particularly suggestive, with the flight of pyrotechnic kites, floating in the night sky, creating a play of light similar to that of fireworks.

THE COUS COUS FEST IN SAN VITO LO CAPO

In Sicily, any time is just right to taste anything traditional. At lunchtime as at dinner time, you can enjoy the fabulous flavours of the island, intense and contrasting but perfectly balanced. Flavours that come from afar, on the other side of the Mediterranean, flavours that bring the magic of Africa close.

Cous Cous is an example of this and the homeland of this very special dish is San Vito Lo Capo. For about twenty years, this seaside town has become the capital of an international gastronomic event. The Cous Cous Fest is a festival of cultural integration that comes from the desire to put together a simple dish of Mediterranean cuisine, the passion for food, cultural exchange, peace between peoples and lots of good music.
